The Society for Medical and Biological Engineering has become a member of the International Federation of Healthcare Engineering (IFHE). IFHE is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 1970 with the aim of networking professional engineering organizations that exist at the level of each state. The purpose of IFHE is to encourage the exchange of information and experience in a wide field of hospitals and healthcare institutions. The goals of IFHE are:
- Promotion, development and dissemination of hospital engineering technologies
- Comparison of international expertise
- Promotion of the principles of integrated planning, design and evaluation through improved cooperation between different professions
- Promotion of more efficient management of operations, maintaining the safety of hospitals, their technical capacity, installations, equipment and facilities
- Facilitating cooperation between international organizations

Društvo za Medicinski i Biološki Inžinjering je postalo član Međunarodnoj federaciji zdravstvenog i kliničkog inžinjeringa (IFHE). IFHE je neprofitna, nevladina organizacija uspostavljena 1970. godine s ciljem umrežavanja profesionalnih inžinjerskih organizacija koje postoje na nivou svake države. Svrha IFHE je poticanje razmjene informacija i iskustva u širokom polju bolnica i zdravstvenih ustanova. Ciljevi IFHE su:
- Promocija, razvoj i diseminacija bolničkih inžinjerskih tehnologija
- Poređenje međunarodnih ekspertiza
- Promocija principa integrisanog planiranja, dizajna i evaluacije kroz poboljšanu saradnju među različitim profesijama
