The first day of #Techathon at Homework HUB unfolded in an inspiring and dynamic atmosphere. More than 60 high school students from Sarajevo joined forces to develop innovative solutions addressing three key UN Sustainable Development Goals – health, education, and gender equality.
Once again, Homework HUB took part in the global #TeensInAI campaign, organized to mark International Women’s Day, with the aim of empowering youth and encouraging their engagement in solving societal challenges through technology and teamwork.
Throughout the day, participants were guided by mentors Alema and Nejra, representing Blum Institute, Bloomteq, and the Verlab Institute, who generously shared their knowledge and expertise. Their support was crucial in helping the teams identify problems and shape potential sustainable solutions.
The event was further strengthened by the support of DMBIUBIH, highlighting the importance of involving the academic and professional community in initiatives that foster creativity and innovation among younger generations.
The day was filled with discussions, idea exchanges, and collaborative work, proving once again that the potential for innovation lies in the hands of youth. With many projects still in development, anticipation is high for the second day of the competition, when teams will present their solutions and showcase how young people can contribute to “hacking” the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
