On 15.03.2014 Day in Sarajevo, the Founding Assembly of the Society for Medical and Biological Engineering in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held.
An associate professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sarajevo, Boskovic Dusanka, was elected President of the Assembly of the company, and for the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company spec. neurosurgeon from University Clinical Center Sarajevo, Omerhodžić Ibrahim.
Executive Director of the company is the director of VERLAB doo Sarajevo and external associate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sarajevo, Badnjević Almir, and his deputy is an employee of Elektroprivreda BiH, Avdaković Samir.
The Statute of the Society defines the basic goals of its activities, including the development, promotion and popularization of biomedical engineering in BiH - dissemination and realization of ideas related to the program orientation of the society, organization of scientific and professional educational activities aimed at informing the scientific community and the general public about the achievements in the field of biomedical engineering, and the publication of books, magazines, newspapers and publications in accordance with legal regulations.
The special guest lecturer at the founding assembly was the President of the International Federation of Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE), Magijarevic Ratko, who gave an introductory lecture on biomedical engineering and the IFMBE community, and expressed full support for joining the full membership of the IFMBE community and the Society for medical and biological engineering in BiH (MBIBBiH).
